I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. Now that I am semi-retired, I have lots of time on my hands, the better to pursue my muses of photography and writing, and writing about photography. For a long time I used a Canon point-and-shoot. When my Social Security lump sum came in, I bought a Nikon and fulfilled my consumerist dreams.
I like to photograph flowers, either fresh or decaying. Not everyone likes dying blooms, but it works for me. Other favorite subjects include bark, nubbly sidewalks, mushrooms, and industrial debris. I am a little too scared to do portraits of people I don't know well.
I am most fortunate. There are endless photo ops within a half mile of my downtown apartment.
