Hibiscus are so beautiful!
Larry Bliss: Thanks! I am glad you identified it. smile
An intricate flower, Larry, nice.
Larry Bliss: Thank you Frank...
So delicate, Larry. They remind me of a whole bunch of mini-lilies clumped together.
Larry Bliss: Thank you Ginnie...

WOW Larry, you found an American Hibiscus, they are rare, in Hollandshire we call this an hyacinth.. but nevertheless it is a wonderful flower and the smell is amazing.
Larry Bliss: We have a disagreement as to which flower it is, but I am glad you like it...

That's very pretty,
Larry Bliss: Thank you, Alan...
They are lovely flowers and seem to have done well this year in the garden despite l the rain and cold
Larry Bliss: They take extra good care of them at the arboretum...

The flower is a white hyacinth. The plant flowers from a bulb in early spring. http://www.guide-to-houseplants.com/hyacinth-flower.html

The American hibiscus looks quite different http://americanhibiscus.org/
Larry Bliss: Thanks for the reference--could come in handy later...
Oh, the smell! I love them.
Larry Bliss: I will have to smell it next time I go back...
Not hibiscus, surely - hyacinth, I think.
Larry Bliss: I will go with the majority vote... smile
