Colortime #1

Fittingly located near a children's museum, this public art has only been up for weeks. It occupies the site of a former garage at the corner of Blount and Morgan Streets in downtown Raleigh.

Je ne savais pas qu'il existait des musées pour les enfants. C'est très coloré, j'aime.
Larry Bliss: Musées pour les enfants sont très populaires ici. Ils ont beaucoup de plaisir et expositions pédagogiques. Museums for children are very popular here. They have lots of fun and educational exhibits.
Now THAT would be quite a change of scenery, Larry, for sure!
Larry Bliss: This is smack dab in the middle of downtown. It's a visual treat!

There is a similarity between our two pictures today Larry
Larry Bliss: There certainly is, Chris. Color for its own sake!
It makes a cheerful space Larry

Is art getting brighter is my question Larry? Is the world so grim that we want something more uplifting that say, Mondrian’s gloom laden colour fields.
Larry Bliss: That's a great question, Chad. Certainly the world can use some uplifting art, although I don't find gloom in Mondrian's works, at least the ones I know.

It certainly brightens up the area! What a great idea.
Larry Bliss: Public art has had a bad reputation in Raleigh but I think this one is changing minds.

What a lovely place for children - I hope this wall with this fine public art can remain for ever.

It is very colourful. Let's hope it stays looking good with no graffiti.
Larry Bliss: That is my heartfelt wish.
