photoblog image Eclipsified Light

Eclipsified Light

Even though Raleigh did not get the full impact of the solar eclipse, it produced a visible effect. Normally at 2:30 on an August afternoon, the sky would be a nice vibrant shade of blue, rather than this sickly color. The sun was over 90% blocked at this point, so it's impressive how much light still remains.

This might be the most unusual Eclipse image I have seen, so far, Larry! smile
Larry Bliss: I specialize in the unusual Ray...
LOL at Ray. I guess you had to be there! smile
Larry Bliss: That Ray is a character...

I'll take your word for this, Larry. It is a pleasant view of the top of the tree, though.
Larry Bliss: It is, isn't it? I may start a new treetop series... smile

So you just missed out on totality Larry
Larry Bliss: Yes, but I saw the totality in 1970 in a previous eclipse--literally a once in a lifetime experience... so far smile

I remember a partial eclipse here, which I had not expected. I looked out and commented to Mrs Gutteridge that it is a bit gloomy. Then I realised, so I understand Larry.
Larry Bliss: It's a subtle change...
It is Larry. I remember the strange light from a partial eclipse here a few years back
Larry Bliss: A little unnerving I found it.
I was mowing my lawn and there was a noticeable difference in the light during the time.
Larry Bliss: I think photographers are especially sensitive to these changes...
i was not aware of it until much later and most of the day, the current POTUS had eclipsed this eclipse in the papers.
Larry Bliss: He loves to see his name in the papers...

We didn't see this eclipse, but I can remember from ones in the past, how the dogs would start howling ...
Larry Bliss: No one consulted the dogs...
how cool is that... we had no effect at all way up here in the north Larry....petersmile
Larry Bliss: You were unscathed... smile
The sky was an eerie color during that time... we had clouds that added to that feeling!
Larry Bliss: Not a likeable color either... smile

You managed to catch the eerie color that we saw here in Boston as well. Quite amazing
Larry Bliss: They should have these eclipses more often...
