i like it that you got this shot in a quiet time of the day, Larry.
Larry Bliss: Thanks, Ayush... the quiet appealed to me...
The dark wood of the pews looks lovely with the pale coloring of the rest of the building
Larry Bliss: It is a nice contrast...

Such a feeling of spaciousness - I imagine the acoustics are good, Larry
Larry Bliss: I think they are. There was a tour guide off camera and I could hear her, but it was not too loud. Sort of a background murmur.

A big place. Let's hope it gets lots of use Larry
Larry Bliss: I think it will--Raleigh has plenty of Catholics.
All those arches everywhere give such a grand feel to this cathedral, Larry. I especially like the lone woman sitting there.
Larry Bliss: It is well designed, inside and out.
I can sense the feeling of quiet that the lady is enjoying Larry
Larry Bliss: It's so good to get away from all the noise of life and just be still.

I went back in the series and this turned out to be a wonderful Cathedral. It was great to see the building of it in all of your pictures. I wonder how big the congregation is.
Larry Bliss: Well, it's hard to say--each Mass will have its own followers. I shall have to sneak into one... smile

I note that they have gone for pews rather than chairs Larry.
Larry Bliss: It's permanent seating.

Just two people in this vast space. Finally a stained glass window peeking out.
Larry Bliss: The windows were salvaged from an older church in Pennsylvania--recycling in action!
Just a touch and tease of a stained glass window.
Larry Bliss: They do not dominate as in some cathedrals...
The altar is very nicely lit from above!
Larry Bliss: The lighting is very good here...
i love your framing from the baptismal font to the altar Larry... good job....petersmile
Larry Bliss: Thank you Peter--I was inspired. smile
Such a contrast to mine, I much prefer the simplicity of the decoration here
Larry Bliss: It gives the place an oddly intimate feel...

This is a beautiful use of light. Well captured.
Larry Bliss: Thank you, Beth... I give credit to the builders.
