I like taking pictures of manhole covers, fire hydrants, etc, and have quite a collection of them.

I like this, Larry.

[I also feel at one with the quote from ole Wynn]
Larry Bliss: Wynn's quote is wonderful. I seek answers every day... Thanks for liking the red circle...
The red circle is good. A friend of mine - who introduced me to SC has a whole collection of circles... a lot of them are hydrants!
Larry Bliss: Hydrants are WAY COOL.
nice one Larry. Not many people get up close to these and have a good look. Love it!
Larry Bliss: Ya gotta look at stuff, Rob

Good for you, Larry - always bringing us what people pass by without a look
Larry Bliss: Just doing my job. smile
And what were your questions with this one, Larry, I wonder??? smile
Larry Bliss: When was the last time this hydrant had a really good squirt?
Have a close look, the inner "circle" has 5 sides then we have a round circle and then we have an eight sided "circle" and the bolts are with 6 sides....
Larry, I love stuff like this and now we just hope that they never have to use this fire hydrant.
Larry Bliss: I had not noticed that. Thanks!

I think this might be a fire hydrant Larry

But what the hell do I know..
Larry Bliss: You are too modest...

Such a common sight in the US. Our fire hydrants are below ground in the pavements (Sidewalks).
Larry Bliss: Which leads me to wonder what your dogs do when nature calls. smile

This is a little gem, or could be.
Larry Bliss: Thanks, Chad.

Yes, a fire hydrant - I see the German surname Mueller/Müller. Your special photograph are very interesting.
Larry Bliss: I like the way you look at things closely...

So did you open it and found an answer? smile
Larry Bliss: I got answer. It was: please do not open the fire hydrant.
Useful too.
Larry Bliss: Thank you...
We don't have fire hydrants like this here.
Larry Bliss: Alan says your fire hydrants are below ground. Then how do the firefighters find them? smile
