The Cathedral: Closer at Last #1

The Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral finally opened earlier this summer... Now I can get closer to some of the detail I was not able to capture earlier.

For how many years has this building been under construction, Larry?
Larry Bliss: About 18 months I would say.

Actually it's quite a nice looking place. You will be reading a sermon there some day I hope Larry..
Larry Bliss: It's a fine building... I am flattered by your comment about the sermon, but they generally don't invite Lutherans to speak... smile

Highly impressive Larry, and so much better for having viewed its early construction.
Larry Bliss: I am glad I took those early pictures...
It looks very solid and sturdy.
Larry Bliss: We may have a hurricane on our doorstep in a few days, and we will find out how sturdy. I'm betting on the cathedral...
This looks really rather fine Larry. Will we be shown inside?
Larry Bliss: Their website says tours will start later this month, so hopefully I can use some nice high ISO on my camera. smile

It is interesting to see its progress, it looks a fine building. Are you going to take us inside I wonder.
Larry Bliss: I plan to take y'all inside Anne.
I like the red brick colour and the shapes of all the windows.
Larry Bliss: Agreed. The bricks should last a good long time...
Looks as though it has been there forever!
Larry Bliss: It is constructed for permanence.

That is impressive and I hope it still stands after the hurricane....
