Made of sandblasted granites and stone colorants, these are details of public art by American artist Vernon Pratt. It is located in Raleigh on the west side of the Education Building of the State of North Carolina. Words are by writer Georgann Eubanks.

 

The wall appears in its entireity below.

 

Until recently this state had a nationally-acclaimed public education system. The veto-proof Republican legislature is changing that. I heard they may lose that supermajority in the November elections. Nothing would make me happier.

I love this form of 'graffiti'. In Netherlands you see many walls filled with poems. I don't agree with the meaning "Learning in old age is writing on sand".
