photoblog image Weathered

Weathered

Some boards from the same porch where I found the sawdust at sunset. I wonder how long it takes paint to assume such a peculiar texture.

PS. I am on VFXY now. Pop over and cast a vote!

I'm really intrigued by your pictures, you're getting quite an archive.
I wonder what is your particular interest in timber?
Larry Bliss: Thanks for your kind words. I can't explain my interest in wood--maybe my great-great-grandfather was a lumberjack. smile
Very nice shot of the texture. Perhaps try cropping your image a bit more and increase the contrast a lot. It will make it more dramatic which suits black and white normally a lot.
The light angle is pretty good, it nicely reveals the texture.
Larry Bliss: I can see where more contrast may have been appropriate; when in doubt, I underdo contrast rather than overdo it. Perhaps I should take more risks, eh? smile...
