Local Architecture

The semi-circle in this image reminds me a little of the semi-circle in the dome of Raleigh's cathedral under construction, as shown in my most recent post.

Speaking of... the cathedral dome was finally lifted into place this morning. Here is a time-lapse sequence of that event:

An impressive video of an impressive building Larry. It'll be very nice to see the completed structure
Larry Bliss: Hats off to the photographer who set up the time-lapse...
Wow, very impressive Larry.
Larry Bliss: Thank you, Chad--it was quite a feat...
I like half moon windows in a design.

The time lapse is fascinating. I wonder if all the small windows in the dome will be stained glass.
Larry Bliss: I am not sure about the windows--none of the renderings are at that small a scale...
An attractive house Larry. I enjoyed the time lapse
Larry Bliss: Thank you, Bill...

Thanks for that time lapse video. Half an hour is quite fast. I wonder whether the crane is rented out per half hour smile

The variation of lines and shapes in today's picture are interesting, in that I wouldn't imagine that they will go together, but the picture proves that they do.
Larry Bliss: They rented the crane for a hour, just to be sure...
I was hoping we would see the dome lifted into position, thanks, Larry.
Larry Bliss: Try the link again--it make take a couple of tries...
