But can they be put back together Larry?
Larry Bliss: Only with a large tube of Crazy Glue...
Not yours I hope!
Larry Bliss: It was on a bridge near where I used to live...

At long last nature is set free again. This street was built to last.
Larry Bliss: Too bad you can't recycle this stuff...
Funny Larry, that I read this as hunks of steel, and was going to have to have words with you about it. On second look I read it correctly. This is the stuff of 'man's world'.
Larry Bliss: Join the club--I misread things all the time...

Someone has been hard at work with a sledgehammer by the looks of things.
Larry Bliss: and a pneumatic drill...
Destined for...?
Larry Bliss: Probably a landfill...
I also, like Chad, read "hunks of steel," so my brain had to do some reorganizing. HA! Sometimes it's easier to grasp something in bite-sized pieces! smile
Larry Bliss: 'tis true...(chomp)

When I was a kid, on time there was a show on TV and there was a question about 'how thick is the street/road' and I yelled 'almost 30 cm'.... (one foot).... they laughed at me, however I was the one who came the closest...
I always played outside and looked at road repair and stuff like that.. smile
Great shot and it brought back memories smile
Larry Bliss: You must have been a tomboy, Astrid...smile

Interesting to see what you say about not recycling. I had a holiday home on the Outer Hebrides a few years. Its as former traditional blockhouse very common at one time, As part of its rebuilding, the sub base of the cottage was laid on the recovered surface material from when the runway at the nearby airport was relaid!
Larry Bliss: A smart move... we have a long way to go in the USA in recycling...
very big hunks Larry... they don't build them that thick anymore... great shot....petersmile
Larry Bliss: I yearn for a return to the days of big hunks of asphalt...tongue
Looks like most of our roads these days
Larry Bliss: A lot of Raleigh roads, too...
Il est grand temps de refaire la route.
Larry Bliss: Oui.
Captured nicely too.
Larry Bliss: Thank you, Jacquelyn...
the never ending cycle of build and destroy ... our (human) version of nature.
Larry Bliss: we do a weak imitation at best...
