Under the Ruined Boathouse

Scanned print, circo 2000. This one is near and dear to me. Found it in my closet after too many years.

What makes photography a strange invention is that its primary raw materials are light and time. --John Berger

Very interesting to see the reflections in B/W. I like this a lot.
Larry Bliss: It's one of my favorites from my early print making days...

Does it have a back story that makes it "near and dear", Larry?
Larry Bliss: I had no association with it. I saw it from the road and thought it looked interesting. I am a little sad that it has probably been torn down for something newer.
I like how you've captured the water!
Larry Bliss: The water drew me in, as it always does.

See Larry, under the ruined boathouse the water is not ruined at all..
Larry Bliss: As always, you are most perceptive...
A happy find Larry. The water has a liquid metal quality to it
Larry Bliss: I am glad you saw that. I tried hard to bring out such qualities in my printmaking.

I am pleased you came cross it again, Larry
Larry Bliss: I was cleaning out my closet and found a stack of 8x10 prints I had forgotten about.
Lots of good things to see here.
Larry Bliss: thanks, Mary...
It has a bit of a sinister look to it, Larry. Reminds me of a cover you would see on a murder mystery book.
Larry Bliss: Contrast=film noir=sinister
