Dressy Guys on Scooters

I hate electric scooters (for the visual clutter if nothing else) but I must admit, these guys are having a fine old time. The occasion was a wedding picture in front of the state capitol.

A good capture Larry, it does look like they were having fun.
I like the image, Larry, and that is partly because of the evident enjoyment being experienced by these nattily-dressed men.

"Hate" seems a little harsh as a judgement on these toys...
Larry Bliss: I understand they and similar vehicles are popular in Thailand. The company that makes these scooters dumped them into the Raleigh area without permission or consultation with city government, saddling the city with liability issues and problems with accidents. Aside from stupid behavior by some riders, I see this an another example of irresponsible corporate behavior. I have seen reports they only go for 2 months until they break down and must be repaired or discarded. You can't walk 300 feet without encountering one of more of these cluttering the right of way. So I don't think "hate" is too strong a word.

All very interesting Larry. I wonder why they picked this theme?
Larry Bliss: Probably not a conscious decision. I think a bunch of guys arrived on the scooters of their own accord.

Well they seem to be enjoying themselves.
Larry Bliss: They were having good fun. The fancy dress makes it all the more fun...
The scooters are only slightly odder than wearing evening dress to a wedding
Larry Bliss: It's not evident from the picture, but they were gathered for a photo session. Outside of the frame were girls in fancy dress. I should have photographed them. smile

I love the contrast between the formality of the dress and the informality of the mode of transport.
Larry Bliss: Exactly!
I think it shows good fun.
Larry Bliss: Me too... youth is cool...
