photoblog image The Omnipresent Anxiety of Anomie

The Omnipresent Anxiety of Anomie

[Insert reference to Michel Foucault]

[Taken by my smartphone and I feel voyeuristic shame.]

[Jean-Paul Sartre has nothing on me.]

[We are all doomed.]

[We die alone, we die afraid, we live in terror, we're naked and alone and the grave is the loneliest place. --John Linnell]

[Etc.]

[Ad infinitum]

[Don't drink the coffee.]

[You can't spell "nihilism" without an "I".]

There's an interesting post!
Larry Bliss: I was in a punchy mood when I wrote it.

Get a grip Larry, take a deep breath. Imagine everything is nice and you are going to have a pleasant day
Larry Bliss: If you take a deep breath it only brings in more of the fatalism of the Universe.
I will quote a friend of mine, now sadly suffering from dementia

"If I wake up in the morning it is a good day...if I don't then it is someone else problem"
Larry Bliss: haha! So droll...

I like this - the black censor pieces over the eyes.
Larry Bliss: Knowing SCers as I do, it seemed a safe measure.

First breath -> last breath. In between, take as many sweet breaths as possible. Over to you.
Dr Louis

existentialism can't be spelled without an "I" as well.

Rather concentrate on the "U" - that makes the "I" less anxious.
Larry Bliss: Good words of pre-post-modern advice.
Have a better day tomorrow.
Larry Bliss: Maybe. Depends on the milieu.
The fellow in the foreground seems to have company, Larry. Always good to have someone to talk to.
Larry Bliss: I sense, however, much angst in his haircut.
Nature, particularly the forest might be a good milieu.
Larry Bliss: I agree... but nature doesn't have that coffeehouse atmosphere...
i have to say i did not know what anomie meant and i get the general drift of your post. but i imagine it gets much worse than what you see in this scene, Larry (my opinion).
Larry Bliss: Oh it does... I exaggerate for comic effect.
